New Era Unlocked; Who the hell is Selina Mae and what is she doing?
hey, hi, hello!
I’m not quite sure if writing this newsletter will feel scary and intimidating and overwhelming or if halfway through the news I’m currently lettering, it will just turn into a diary entry. Trust me, I’m just as excited to find out as you are. If you don’t want to miss rambled newsletters/diary entries:
A lot’s been going on in the past few months. Turns out; writing a book is hard! Harder than it used to be when I knew that chapter I wrote at three in the morning on a school night would only end up on Wattpad with a few funny comments instead of an actual book, in actual bookstores, with actual people spending actual money on it. Who would’ve thought? I’m shocked.
Let’s get to it!
So… who the hell is Selina Mae?
It’s me, hi! Selina Mae formerly (and still) known as Seselina who wrote that one fanfic on that one website a few years ago.
What the hell is she doing?
Publishing a book, I think. (Honestly, it’s been four months and it still hasn’t settled in. Is someone playing a cruel joke on me that has been going on for way too long? If so, please let me know before I send this newsletter out (If you’re reading this, I guess this really is happening, in which case HJKGHFTXDG)).
Okay, onto the book (that really is happening– HJKGHFTXDG):
LESSONS IN FAKING is my debut baby loosely inspired by that one fanfic I was talking about earlier. I’m sure you’ve already read the blurb on Instagram, so I’ll skip that and jump straight into *more* news.
LIFA will be available in English AND German???? Which makes the whole thing so much cooler, and also gives me the possibility of two cover versions, hehe. You’ve probably already seen the beautiful pastel-pink heaven that is the German version. Now, get ready for pastel-green goodness for all my English speakers! I love her so much, you have no idea.
Disclaimer: The “English Edition by LYX” is a sticker!!! Do no worry, it can easily be peeled off.
You’ll be able to preorder both versions late april-ish (oh my god), and I cannot wait to share Athalia’s and Dylan’s story with you all on October 25, 2024. <3
